COVID-19 Update

Due to COVID-19 restrictions in the Waikato region, the annual exhibition has been postponed. The exhibition will now be held at a later day of 27 May - 27 June 2022. 

Further information will be announced closer to the time.

The Waikato Society of Potters 50th Annual Exhibitio

This is our 50th so we want it to be special. We want to celebrate all our members, at all experience levels! Please consider submitting some work for our upcoming annual exhibition. There are many awesome awards, but it's more about celebrating you all than winning!

Conditions of entry 
This exhibition is open to all financial members of the Waikato Society of Potters. If you are not a member and would like to join, please visit our website at www.waikatopotters.co.nz  A maximum of two entries may be submitted, one of which may be a set of up to 6 pieces. 

Please deliver work to the Waikato Society of Potters studios on Norris Ward Park, 2 Seddon Road, Hamilton, between 10 am and 4 pm from 11 - 12 October 2021 or directly to ArtsPost on 13 October 10am-12pm. All unsold work can be collected from ArtsPost on 22 November or from Waikato Society of Potters after 23 November. Any unsold items are to be collected promptly from Waikato Society of Potters before the studio closes for the Christmas break.

Selection Process 
The selection process will be done by two members of the WSP Committee. The selectors’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Awards, as shown above will be given at the Judge’s discretion. The exception are the People's Choice Award, which will be voted on by visitors throughout the exhibition and announced after the exhibition closes; and the Mug award to be judged by Jenni Taris. 

All work must have been created in the last 12 months and be the sole work of the member, unless it is a joint work between two or more financial members, each of whom must be listed on the entry form. The work must be wholly original and not a copy of, or otherwise directly derived from, material seen elsewhere. Submissions previously exhibited at ArtsPost are not eligible for this exhibition.

A commission of 25% + GST will be taken off the selling price by ArtsPost. Waikato Society of Potters is registered for GST. Prices must be shown in complete dollars and include GST. All entries must be for sale. In recognition of ArtsPost's commitment towards developing local artists, Hamilton-based artists are eligible to a significantly reduced gallery commission of 25% on sales, including GST, which is a discount of 21% [from the original commission of 46%].

All pots must be securely packaged in reusable packaging, which has the following information printed and attached to the box: a photo of the work, the name of the work, your name and your phone number. Also attach a copy of your entry form; one copy per entry. It is the responsibility of the potter to deliver and pick up their work. A second copy of the form should be provided to the Waikato Society of Potters manager.

Insurance is the responsibility of the potter. 

All due care will be taken with every aspect of the exhibition, but the organisers will not be responsible for clerical errors, nor unforeseen mistakes, including accidents or breakages. By entering into this exhibition, it is accepted by the exhibitor that they agree to these conditions and that photos of their work may be used for publicity purposes by WSP and sponsors.
