The Waikato Society of Potters 52nd Annual Exhibition

We hope you will join us in celebrating another year gone by at the Waikato Society of Potters! Our annual exhibition showcases the wealth of talent across our diverse membership. Please consider submitting your work. There are many awesome awards, but it's more about celebrating you all than winning!

Open Awards open to all experience levels:

  • WSP Premier Award: $1000

Entry

We invite members to start working on their entries now for delivery to Waikato Society of Potters by 4pm on Monday 19th August

Entries close: Sunday 18th August 2024 at 11.59pm

Conditions of entry 

  • This exhibition is open to all financial members of the Waikato Society of Potters. 

  • If you are not a member and would like to join, you can do so here

  • A maximum of four entries may be submitted (includes a tile and/0r mug entry), one of which may be a set of up to 6 pieces. Items entered as part of a set must be for sale as a set, not individually.

Delivery
All work must be delivered to the Waikato Society of Potters between Monday the 12th of August and Monday the 19th of August during the following hours: Mondays 9am to 4pm; Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm

Collection
All unsold work can be collected from Waikato Society of Potters between Tuesday 24th September and Tuesday 1st October during the following hours: Mondays 9am to 4pm; Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm

Selection Process 
The selection process will be caried out by two members of the WSP Committee. The selectors’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Awards, as shown above will be given at the Judge’s discretion. The exception are the People's Choice Award, which will be voted on by visitors throughout the exhibition and announced after the exhibition closes; and the Mug Award to be judged by Jenni Taris. 

Originality
All work must have been created in the last 15 months and be the sole work of the member, unless it is a joint work between two or more financial members, each of whom must be listed on the entry form. The work must be wholly original and not a copy of, or otherwise directly derived from, material seen elsewhere. Submissions previously exhibited at ArtsPost are not eligible for this exhibition.

Sales
A commission of 25% + GST will be taken off the selling price by ArtsPost. Waikato Society of Potters is registered for GST. Prices must be shown in complete dollars and include GST. All entries must be for sale.

Packaging
All pots must be securely packaged in reusable packaging, which has the following information printed and attached to the box: a photo of the work, the name of the work, your name and your phone number. Also attach a copy of your entry form (a copy is emailed to you if you complete the online form); one copy per entry. It is the responsibility of the potter to deliver and pick up their work. A second copy of the form should be provided to the Waikato Society of Potters manager. Please affix a label to the underside of each work with the artist name and the name of the work to assist us with identification.

Insurance
Insurance is the responsibility of the potter. 

Disclaimer
All due care will be taken with every aspect of the exhibition, but the organisers will not be responsible for clerical errors, nor unforeseen mistakes, including accidents or breakages. By entering into this exhibition, it is accepted by the exhibitor that they agree to these conditions and that photos of their work may be used for publicity purposes by WSP and sponsors.
