The Waikato Society of Potters runs a variety of classes for everyone, from beginners to experienced potters, there is something for you.
We offer both evening and day classes for people at all levels on their pottery journey. Phone the studio on 07-838-1950, to discuss which class would best suit your needs or check out our class booking page.

The Waikato Society of Potters studio is a safe environment that welcomes people from all walks of life, of all ages, with or without disabilities, from all over the world. The Waikato Society of Potters continue to provide quality experiences to Hamilton and Waikato residents, attracting hundreds of residents to the area each week and growing.
Terms and Conditions: The Waikato Society of Potters (WSP) reserves the right cancel a class if it fails to achieve minimum enrolment numbers, for reasons outside of our control. A full refund will be given if the class is cancelled by the WSP less a 5% credit card fee.
If a student cancels their enrolment within 72 hours of the first class starting, no refund will be given. If a student cancels their booking less than 7 days prior to the event a 50% administration charge will be deducted from the refund. Should a student cancel their enrolment any time prior to the above a 20% administration fee will be deducted from the refund.
WSP does not provide makeup sessions or credits for classes that you have missed due to your personal circumstances,
Private workshops or events
If you would like to arrange a workshop for a special event, like a work teambuilding event, a birthday party., or even some one-to-one training, we can tailor a programme to your needs. Charities and not-for-profits - We understand you are on a limited budget because we are too. Please contact us directly for a special rate for your group's budget.
One-on-one tutoring (includes clay):
Hand building: 1 hour 1 hour 2 hour 2 hour

Private events and corporate bookings:
3 people: $285 for 2 hours
4-5 people: $350 (2 hours) or $400 (3 hours)
6 people or more: $65 pp (2 hours) or $75 pp (3 hours)
Fees include:
Tutoring
2kg clay per person (enough to make a few items)
2 kiln firings (bisque and glaze) and glazing on your behalf
Additional pre- and post- workshop labour and administration.
A 50% deposit will be required within 3 days of booking. Payment of balance by invoice or in one payment (not split) by Eftpos on the day.

PLAY WITH CLAY
Playing with clay is fun for everyone – no matter your age or background. It provides not only a creative outlet, but an outlet for the general stresses of life and helps with finding some peace and mental balance. It grounds you, both in a physical sense, but also emotionally, and brings immense joy.
Ideal for people who wish to explore their creativity in a less formal manner. The sessions are not tutored but there are usually plenty of people around who can offer tips and guidance if needed. If you decide you want to learn more, it is best to enroll in a class.
Play with Clay Pricing:
Adults
$14 per 3 hour session plus clay for a non-members
OR
$10 (or $8 per session with $40 studio concession card) for members
Children under 16 years
$10 per 3 hour session plus clay for a non-members
OR
$6 for members
We don't want cost to be the reason people can't follow their passion. If the financial cost is a barrier to you attending Play With Clay, you may qualify for a subsidised rate. Please complete the enquiry form to apply. All information provided will be held in confidence.

WORKSHOPS
Workshops are a wonderful way to hone your skills or learn that new technique that you have admired but never tried. Our workshops are usually held during weekends. We have a variety of workshops available each term, you do have to be quick as these sell out fast.
