51st Annual Exhibition Award Winners

Thank you to everyone who came and contributed to the exhibition last week and to all of those who helped make it happen! Yasmin did an amazing job presenting works with the help of Janet and Elsa. A special mention to our committee for helping on the night, our members for bringing plates and of course John Parker for taking on the challenge of judging this year. We were spoiled with tasty food and even tastier pottery.

Workshop — How and Why with Scott Brough

We are looking forward to having Scott Brough at the studio on the 23rd of September to take a special demonstration workshop focusing on his unique personal approach to working with clay.

Scott is inspired by Japanese and Korean ceramics, as well as folk pottery traditions from around the world. Scott will be bringing raw materials; some wild clays and we will have a kick wheel at the studio for one weekend only! This is not to be missed. If you are interested, check out his website  or click here for workshop details.

September — Friday Evening 'Open' Studios'

We would like to offer members some special ‘Open Studio’ sessions on Friday nights for the next 3 weeks (Friday 1st, 8th and 15th September from 6-9pm) as there will be no class. Larissa will be volunteering for these sessions and would much appreciate an extra helper. Please email info@waikatopotters.co.nz if this is you. Otherwise see you all there next week for some pottery making.
