We're in End of Year Mode

Kia ora pottery whānau

Libby here - with one whole week of training under my belt. Thanks so much to everyone for welcoming me into the role! And special thanks to Larissa, our ARs, Tess and our marvellous volunteers for helping me find my feet so far.

We're in end of year mode at the moment, so here's a wrap up of our dates and reminders...

Big ol' clear out

Margaret has been doing an amazing job of getting all your work through the kilns - even with our biggest kiln out of action - and the shelves are bursting with your creations. We'd be very grateful if you could find time to come in and collect your pieces over the next two weeks. In particular, we've moved a huge amount of work from the bisque shelves to the foyer area, as a last-chance prompt to collect/glaze these before we run out of space and need to dispose of them. Most of this is from August/September, so has been here for quite a while. Please have a look through the piles for any work that belongs to you, we really hate to dispose of your gorgeous work.

We'll also be doing another clear out of all areas - wet cupboard, drying shelves, class shelves, bisque shelves, finished work shelves - on the 22nd at the working bee, so it'd be prudent to collect anything you have left here before then.

Xmas Party

We're getting together on Tuesday 19th at 5.30pm for our annual Christmas Party, all members welcome! There's a secret santa for those who want to join in - bring a small, wrapped gift (hand made is always popular!) for that. And we'll share a kai, so if you can, bring some food to share. Otherwise, just bring yourself. Hope to see you there!

No Play with Clay on the 19th, come celebrate instead.

Firings

The last dates for guaranteed firing before Christmas has passed, but we'll still be running the kilns, so long as there is enough work to go through. If you don't mind if your pieces aren't ready before xmas, you can still drop them off to us for firing.

We hope to run 1 (or even 2) more gas firings before we close too.

Last Open Studio

Classes are finishing up this week, so we will have Open Studio for members most days, with the last sessions on Thursday the 21st.

For those who are coming to the Working Bee on Friday the 22nd, there will be a shared kai - if you have the capacity to bring a plate that's great, otherwise all you need to bring is yourselves. Thanks so much for your help here, it's greatly appreciated by all!
