Kia ora tatou
It’s been a hectic week at the studio this week with lots happening on all fronts. The new kitchen install is underway and it’s all systems go for the Open Day. There’s some wonderful evening and weekend workshops coming up. Let’s get into it.
Open Day
The Open Day is just around the corner and if you haven’t put your hand up yet there’s still time. If you’ve got an hour or two to help your awesome club be even awesomer here’s your chance.
If you can help for a couple of hours in the morning, or in the afternoon, or even for the whole day, we would be immensely grateful. There'll be a range of activities running, so there will be something everyone can help with, no matter your pottery skill level. Things like:
Setting up before the hordes arrive
Setting up before the hordes arrive
Selling activity tickets
Selling raffle tickets
Helping people underglaze their paint-a-pots
Showing people how to make and decorate pinch pots
Helping glaze the raku pots
Helping smoke the raku pots
Showing people how to make a wheel-thrown pot
Slippery dip helpers
If this sounds like a bit of you, sign-up for a time slot here, or on the register in the studio.
Massive thanks to all who have volunteered so far, we are excited to have your help in showcasing this incredible club xx
Clearing the class shelves
We need the class shelves cleared so there’s somewhere to put all the Open Day wares. So please pop in over the next few days to move your pieces either onto the drying shelves or into the kiln room for bisqueing. Thanks in advance.
Kitchen update
Thanks everyone for your patience with the mess and the noise this week as the new kitchen is being installed. It’s going to be amazeballs. Contractors and cabinetmakers have been hard at work – here’s the benchtop going in. On Monday next week (7th April) the electricians will be running new wiring so we’ll have lots of power outlets and be able to put in an oven. Our shared lunches will be even more glorious. Go us! And a big thanks to HCC 🙏
