Great things happening here

Kia ora clay family,
Two more days to go before we close for two weeks. The School Holiday Programmes have been and gone. The kilns are full, the pickup-shelves are full, and the sky and the ground are full of water. We've got some great workshops coming up in the next couple of months, check them out below.

Teapots with Suzy Dunser

A two-afternoon workshop.
Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August 1.30 to 5.30pm both days.

In this workshop you will learn how the components of a teapot affect its aesthetics and function, and practise your skills making and assembling a wheel-thrown teapot of your own design.

Skills covered will include throwing a cylinder, bellying, forming a shoulder and gallery or rim, throwing a variety of lid forms, throwing a spout, pulling a handle, and assembling the teapot.

Find out more here.

Wonder, whimsy, detail and delight

Animal forms with Fiona Tunnicliffe
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September 10am to 4pm both days

In this workshop you wll learn the basics of animal anatomy, how to break down forms and successfully build what you see. It is geared to learning some construction skills that will extend and be useful in your usual practice.

Term 3 classes

There's a few places left in the following classes starting the week of Monday 28 July.

Tuesday morning beginner wheel throwing. Check it out here.
Friday Intro to Pottery. Find out more here.
Sunday morning wheel taster. More info here.

Closure

We will be completely closed for 2 weeks from Monday 14 July while the roof and the kiln room ceiling room are replaced, and the electrical wiring is upgraded.

Pick-ups and drop-offs
The team here is working really hard to get your pieces through the kilns as quickly as possible before we close at end of day Saturday. The pickup shelves are pretty full so if you could make it in to collect your works asap that would be really helpful.
