It's been another busy and fun week here in the studio, and we're excited to be welcoming our Diploma students into our community tomorrow. Please note that this does mean the studio is closed all day, apart from drop offs and pick ups.
We may also be closed on Saturday afternoon as we don't have a volunteer to run the Members' Open Studio session yet. That may change, so please be sure to check the studio calendar before you head in!

Re-registration under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022
Kia ora e te whanau o te uku,
The committee would like to thank all those who attended the Special General Meeting held on Tuesday, 16/12/2025 and those who voted via proxy to accept the updated Waikato Society of Potters Incorporated constitution to reregister under the Incorporated Societies Act of 2022. Also thank you those who gave feedback on the updated constitution prior to the meeting.
Our application for reregistration has been successful, and the society will act under the updated constitution.

April School Holiday Workshops
We're looking forward to hosting three fun, full-day workshops over the April school holidays!
In these workshops our young potters will split into small groups and will rotate around four different activity stations throughout the day, learning a new potting technique at each station.
The dates for these workshops are:

Our second round of shorter classes are now open for enrolments.

Fridays, 6pm - 9pm for 4 weeks, starting 13 March 2026

Road closure on Seddon Rd
We've received notice from HCC that road works will be carried out soon on the section of Seddon Road where the entry to our carpark is.
This will take place one night during the week commencing 2nd March, and the road will be closed to through traffic from 6pm until 6am. The weather will dictate which night they will be able to carry out the works during that week, so we can't be certain which date the road will be closed.
We have requested that carpark access be given to our members, students and Play with Clay visitors during the works, but we have not heard yet whether that will be possible. So, please do plan ahead, just in case you need to park on side streets.
