We are trialing something different with our news posts: posting at the start of the week instead of on Fridays.

This is in response to a few requests from members who have said they would find it helpful to have the weekly studio information available when they are planning the week ahead rather than when they are finishing a long week. Any last minute changes that develop during the week will be communicated as the week progresses through our social media accounts.

Of course, we also love feedback so if you find this doesn't work well for you, please let Sarah know (manager@waikatopotters.co.nz).

A Christmas market and other festive season plans

Now that we have entered the final quarter of the calendar year, we are beginning to think about the holiday season. We are working on some fun pre-Christmas workshops and will set a date for the Christmas party soon.

We are thinking of hosting a makers' market for our members in the run up to the holidays. To avoid clashing with Saturday activities and other markets, we are considering a Tuesday evening slot to capture people finishing work and school. If enough of our members are keen to have a free stall we will go ahead with this so feedback at this point is helpful. If you want to sell some work, please complete the poll below.

The Christmas party plans are also in motion and we are working on fixing the damage to the wood kiln so we can run a club firing for all our members as part of the festivities.

Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for those important dates that will also include the final drop-off dates for firing.

Workplace Christmas parties

We have kept some space in the calendar in Term 4 for workplace Christmas dos and other workshop bookings. Thursday afternoons have mainly been allocated to these events and are beginning to book up but there are also some weekend slots. If your workplace is keen to hold a pottery Christmas do, get in touch with Larry or Lara at info@waikatopotters.co.nz
